Asked Questions

Combination boilers are great for flats and property’s with 1 bathroom and low hot water demand.

Property’s with more than 1 bathroom and higher hot water demands will be better suited to a hot water cylinder with either a heat only or system boiler.

There unfortunately isn’t a cookie cutter answer, as each households needs and requirements will be different. Get in touch with us today on 07590 514937 so we can arrange a visit and find out what your specific requirements are and the best solution for your property

From monitoring our customers gas useage and comparing it to their bills on previous years. On average our customers that go from non condensing boilers over to condensing combi boilers or a new condensing boiler with a high gain cylinder, have been making savings of around 30-50% off their gas bills.

There is no official set data or information on this as there are just too many variables between property’s to give comparable results. It depends on variables such as: how well insulated the property is, is the property in a sheltered area or receives a lot of wind hitting it, how many occupants live there, how often windows and doors are open, what room temperature they want to reach, how much hot water they use, what temperature they have their hot water stored to. The list goes on.

This is the most efficient way to heat your property. Our customers using this way of heating are on average saving around 30-50% off the gas bills.

Weather compensation uses an outside temperature sensor to tell the boiler how warm/cold it is outside. The boiler will then adjust the heating flow temperature accordingly to keep the desired room temperature stable. The colder it is outside, the hotter the radiators, the warmer it is outside, the cooler the radiators. When set up correctly the result of this is much higher comfort levels for the occupants and zero wasted energy from over heating the property.

Unlike a heat-only boiler, a system boiler does not require a separate water tank or cistern for cold water storage. Instead, it incorporates all the necessary components within a single unit, including the pump, expansion vessel, and pressure relief valve. This makes system boilers more compact and easier to install compared to heat-only boilers.

A combination boiler, also known as a combi boiler, is a type of central heating system that combines the functions of a traditional boiler and a high-efficiency water heater into one compact unit. Unlike heat-only or system boilers, a combi boiler does not require a separate hot water cylinder or cold water storage tank. Instead, it heats water directly from the mains supply as and when it is needed, providing instant hot water on demand.

Combi boilers are known for their space-saving design and energy efficiency. They are particularly popular in smaller homes or apartments where space is limited. Combi boilers are capable of delivering hot water at mains pressure, eliminating the need for a separate shower pump. They are also highly efficient since they heat water only when it is required, reducing energy waste and ensuring a constant supply of hot water.

Combination boilers are sized according to the incoming mains flow rate. The boiler will aim to heat the water and give a temperature rise of at least 35 degrees. The faster the flow, the bigger the combination boiler needs to be in order to heat the water.

With heat only and system boilers. We size them for the largest heat load demand of either the radiators or the hot water cylinder coil. These boilers are commonly over sized for the property, making the boiler less efficient.

This is a great question that we get asked a lot. The options to choose from can start from £1500 plus VAT to £12,000 plus VAT and everything in between. It can vary depending what make and model boiler you would like, along with any modernisation upgrades that are required or you would like to add on as well.

We would be more than happy to come and talk through it all with you. Get in touch with us today on 07590 514937 so we can arrange a site visit to see what you would like to have as part of your boiler install and we can give you an accurate price.

Priority hot water when used with weather compensation controls have on average made our customers savings of around 30-50% off the gas bills.

Priority hot water means that all the boilers power will be used to heat up the hot water cylinder as quickly as possible. If heating was on, this will temporarily be stopped which the cylinder is being heated. Priority hot water can allow for 2 separate boiler flow temperatures when using Vaillant controls. High temperature for hot water for quick re heat times, low temperatures for heating to ensure maximum efficiency.

A heat-only boiler, also known as a conventional or regular boiler, is a type of central heating system that provides heat for radiators and hot water cylinders. It is called “heat-only” because it only generates heat which is then used to either heat radiators or a hot water cylinder and does not provide instant hot water on demand. Heat-only boilers are commonly used in older homes with traditional heating systems and are usually connected to a separate hot water storage tank.

Both a hot chemical flush and a Powerflush are methods used to clean and remove sludge and debris from a central heating system. However, there are some differences between the two processes.

A hot chemical flush typically involves using a chemical cleaning solution that is added and circulated through the heating system to dissolve sludge and debris. The boiler is turned on and run until it has reached its maximum temperature. The cleaning solution is then drained and the system is refilled with clean water.

On the other hand, a Powerflush is a more comprehensive and powerful method of cleaning a central heating system. It involves using a specialized machine that is connected to the heating system to flush water through the pipes at high velocity. A chemical cleaning agent to break down any sludge and debris.

Our Powerflush machine also has 2 large magnets on it that removes any sludge that passes through, preventing the sludge from being re circulated.

Get in touch with us today on 07590 514937 so we can arrange to carry out a Powerflush at your property.
